The
research we have been working on is part of Andy Bunn's research
thesis. He is currently a PhD student at Montana State University.
His research revolves around forest simulation modeling and
addresses the dynamics of treeline over the last millennium
in response to climate variation. Field crews are sent to the
Sierra Nevada Mountains to collect data, survey selected plots
and extract cores form trees, this information is used to evaluate
climatic mechanisms controlling forest composition, structure
and dynamics. His results will be published in scientific journals
and presented at conferences.Yuma Proving Grounds are using
